What we do.
architecture
The needs of every client are bespoke and curated by their past experiences. When faced with a design brief we first question, turn-over and question again, to seep past the surface level insight. We cut through the static to begin to read between the lines to ascertain the essence of each project. In drawing out the unspoken parameters, aspirations, and limitations, we upturn the design brief and in doing so manifest a provocative, distinctive and optimized proposal for each project.
We are a one stop-shop for all your architectural requirements – whether a renovation, addition or new construction, we accompany your project through all phases, from the first idea through to completion. If desired, we are also able to present you with interior design concepts as well as color and furnishing ideas. The design process is accompanied by 3D renderings and models to visualize spaces and the exterior look of a building. Throughout the span of the project, we work closely with external consultants, from structural, mechanical and electrical engineers to landscape architects and energy consultants, to ensure smooth project management.
sustainability
Given the dwindling and limited supply of raw materials, it is now more important than ever to carefully consider the use of materials and their overall energy balance. For this reason, we are cognizant from the outset on creating resilient, long-lasting, and responsible architecture that meets the needs of future generations. The focus of our work is a sustainable choice of materials, optimized energy efficiency and flexibility - all with the aim of ensuring long-term use and value retention. We do not see these requirements as a restriction, but rather as an exciting challenge to realize innovative and operatively demanding projects.
As certified passive house planners, we can help investigate and develop resilient, energy -efficient solutions and will competently guide you through your next sustainable building project.
ateliervol
ateliervol is the proverbial „workshop in the back“, our R&D Hub and home of our self-driven projects. In the past years we have had the opportunity to undertake a number of small self-built projects. These projects have offered room for research, design refinement and ample opportunity to be hands on with our architecture. The privilege of being able to pursue self-driven projects and assume the role of both architect and builder has truly enriched our practice and approach.
furniture & object design
Furniture and everyday objects are much more than just functional objects - they are an indispensable part of spatial perception and have a significant impact on how people experience space. They influence both the aesthetic effect and the ease-of-use and therefore make a decisive contribution to the atmosphere of a room. Furniture design, in particular, expands our creative orbit and offers space to test new ideas and develop innovative concepts. It allows us to take our understanding of space and form to a tangible level. By producing models and prototypes, we can find bespoke solutions that have the potential to individually enrich every construction project and match the unique needs of the users.
