BEAUITFUL HAUS

Our beautiful house is the corporeal realization of a metaphysical definition of beauty, one we had not sought but instinctively found. The proposal once aspired to design a structure that seemed a-part-of yet was apart from the landscape, by addressing the desire for ‘beauty’ through functionality. Recognizing that function and desire aren’t the most amenable of drivers, one being static and the other dynamic, the resultant confluence of these two states is best characterized as a struggle. Thus we realized that the Beauty we espied is within the struggle: the clash and bang that happens between two states, between function and desire, the static and the dynamic, built form and the landscape, in-between the abstraction of line and the circle - the Bar and the Point
